He should sue. That’s what a tesla driver would do.
Another Canadian driver, Carolina Dreamer, JoeyJunk and 2 others Thank this. -
I read as far as california residents. Those plus tesla means nothing of value was lost! Sadly their relitives will now go on a lawsuit spree and methinks the driver is going to be in the crosshairs.
Another Canadian driver, JSanborn103, Coover and 2 others Thank this. -
I don't know why people even purchase these things. I would be extremely uncomfortable just sitting there while the car was driving itself.

*cough* <insert falseto mixed with valley girl here> like because it totally is cool man. Piff you boomers all unable to apprecate new tech and stuck in your evil backwards ways man.....ok i cant i just cant. I cringed even thinking that in my head
In all seriousness its mostly pure lazyness and self pampering.Another Canadian driver, JoeyJunk, Coover and 3 others Thank this. -
Looking at the pictures, it looks like the truck was on the exit ramp(or the shoulder of the ramp if he was really parked) I live near G'ville, the truck parking spaces curve around at a sharp left...if it were in a parking spot, it wouldn't have been hit like that. So maybe he was slowing down to take a break and the tesla came in hot

Looks to me like Walmart was legally parked maybe 6 or so slots in from the entrance, unless he was about to pull into a slot when the Tesla hit, and he decided to park anyway.
That Tesla is wedged. Be interesting to hear the details on it.cke, Another Canadian driver and Boondock Thank this. -
All I see coming from this is an update of the Mansfield bars name to include Darwin Award bars.
Truck is parked in the rest area, off-ramps have speed limits, impact shows vehicle recklessly traveling above them.
Every few years there's an uptick in self-driving semi rhetoric. I point to this as Exhibit A why that's malarkey. Envision the clean-up of an autopilot semi hitting an occupied parked Tesla. We have job security.Coover, Another Canadian driver, blairandgretchen and 2 others Thank this. -
Ill try.
"In todays propaganda broadcast, wreckless retired truck driver joe bob is charged with octuple homicide in conjunction with the recent crash where an automated semi trucks computer malfunctioned causing it to swerve into oncoming traffic strikeing an automated tesla bus and killing the driver and all 7 passengers.
When questioned joe bob tried to defend this deplorable action by claiming he has been retired for 20 years and hasnt driven a truck since human piloting of said vehicles was outlawed. USSA gutstopo troops say this doesnt matter as he was the nearest driver to the scene and its always the truck drivers fault. Joe bob has been sentinced to death by boiling alive after 10 years forced labor and his children to 50 years forced labor for his crimes.
This has been cindy lieslots from CNN!"
I imgaine thats how it would go. Find the nearest driver and sentince him because it would be his fault.Gearjammin' Penguin, Another Canadian driver, blairandgretchen and 1 other person Thank this. -
The picture clearly shows the truck parked in a legit spot. I can only assume the Tesla came hauling butt through the rest area and slammed into the back of the trailer.
Here’s the satellite view of the rest area.Attached Files:
