looks good but, who's going to shovel all the snow that falls from back of the trailer after a few trucks drive through and a big pile of snow and ice block the way to the scraper?

As I said I've seen them, but normally they're blocked off for all drivers.

MY Post, MY Opinions, MY Concerns.

(1 for 1) There WILL BE some "scientists" that somehow believe they're light enough to traverse the Dry Van Roofs.

(2 for Thee) There WILL BE some "class acts" that will FAIL to properly (whatever that is) eliminate the NATURAL DUNNAGE (snow & ice) from their Trailer(s) while having some sort of "recovery time" in a Medical facility.............or morgue.

(3 to be) There WILL BE those Drivers that will simply IGNORE the "regulation" and continue as Trucking has for the last 80 years.

(4 or play) There WILL BE those who get "written up" for failure to adhere to the "new rule" while trying to explain the LOGICAL IMPROBABILITY of "clearing a Trailer roof without incorporating serious INJURY or DEATH", for a ruling that's simply pointless and impossibly attainable, thanks to our fumbling feral goobers.

(Johnny 5 alive) Do As Thou Wilt, Without Harming Another Life, Like YOURS, Shall Be The Whole Of The Law!

Sad to say yet Next WINTER, I see LESS Drivers due to the inexplicably stupid requirement to PAY to clear a Trailer ROOF, only to have to do it AGAIN, repeatedly, from Driving in A Snow Storm or simply Parking at a non participating Truck Stop not having "Snow-Ice Clearing Equipment".
The Amount Of Truck Drivers Who WILL BE IGNORING the incompetent "requirement" will be LEGENDARY!!

NATURE PUT IT DOWN, NATURE REMOVES IT!!

I have yet to read ANY ARTICLE about mostly 4 wheeled vehicle owners HAVING TO CLEAR ALL SNOW & ICE BEFORE TRAVEL.

I used to specialize in leaving before sun up the day after the storm…. And let it blow off the tank….

it’s a little different when you only use 1 trailer tho …..

The only way to do it would be: Every facility that has parked trailers in it in areas of heavier winter. Have a drive through hot water pressure cleaning operation. And that's not going to happen.

"Rolling stock" is exempt from the fall protection requirement.

At least it was about 15 years ago, the last time I had this argument with an alleged supervisor.......

Keri left this morning and headed back to London. This is going to be a 4-day trip. When she gets back she is off for two weeks during which she will be getting married. Most of her things have been moved and this apartment seems larger and colder to me. Going to be an adjustment!

I don't know where it was taken but the pilot claims the camera angle made it look a lot closer to the bluff than it was. That's his story and he's sticking to it. I've always liked that picture. It shows what those guys have to do to lay that stuff down where they need it.
The picture is an homage to my oldest brother and to my Dad's brother. They were both killed in air tanker crashes. This time of the year it seems like an appropriate avatar.
