They don't pay these guys a few hundred bucks to run it because they're bright ...

Or maybe he thought he could play the odds, and had done it in the past?

Well hold on guys lets not jump to conclusions here. How many times have you backed up to a dock and the shipping guy tells you its going to be a hour or two! Do you stand there and wait to see what exactly it is their putting into your trl, or do you go out get in the bed? I picked up a load in Lareado,Tx going to Napa,Ca one time the warehouse was on a side street like most of the others. It didnt have a name or address on the building. To this day I would swear that I hauled something other than plastic powder used to make reflective constuction cones in that trl just by how those guys were acting. I also found it funny how they sealed it with a high security tamper proof lock too. I quit that company that booked the load the next week by the way. A good lawyer could get them off. By the way Ky scales have x-ray vision into your trl. If its something that looks funny they will climb in there and have a peak.
