That Miyagi photo looks much like the first 'photo of Hubs' that he sent when we were getting to know each other online, years back.. (21 K dialup.. took forever to get to the eyebrows on that thing.. though OH GAWD... he's old and bald... then OH gawd, hes old bald and Asian (prolly shorter than me)... then about mid nose I tripped to the fact it's Morita.... Around here there's a Quick Stop chain Called "Pete's One Stop"... They're getting them now too.

 

The one in KC is pretty Grim as I recall, but I never went to the Loozianna one.

 

These self-checkouts are springing up a lot over the last few years. One of the grocery stores near me just yanked out 2 full checkouts and put in 4 self-checkouts. I 100% agree with you. The problem is when you get ready to check out the regular checkouts have a line 30+ feet long. I am standing with 4 or 5 items in my cart. Another issue is what I was told by a Target manager a while back. They can't get enough people to work. Even the Military commissaries have these self-checkouts.

 

Stop yelling at tourists, say police in Arizona destination

JEROME, Ariz. (AP) — Police in a old Arizona mining town that gets 1 million tourists annually are warning residents to stop yelling at visitors or they could face harassment charges.

Jerome, population about 450, was once home to one of Arizona's largest copper mines and is now a hub for artists. Tourists take in its scenic views and visit stores and bars along the winding mountain road that passes through it.

But Jerome police said on Facebook this week that it “has come to our attention that some people visiting our town on short visits and using lawful short term parking passes are being yelled at or having notes left on their cars by local residents.”


And it warned: “Yelling at, or leaving notes could, in some cases, constitute harassment under Arizona Revised Statutes.”

Jerome is about 110 miles (177 kilometers) north of Phoenix and was designated a National Historic District in 1967.

Residents who think people may have violated parking regulations were asked to contact police.
