Heat Limitations, at what point do you not run, because of heat?

If your cooling system is good your fine. It hasn't been in the 100s here but high 80s low 90s. With the fan on at an idle I run around 175 on oil and 170 coolant

 

You are tougher than me. I wouldn't drive a truck without A/C more than a day, but I've only been a company driver.

 

I did 2 years ago for about a month but I also have vent windows and vents on the doors. The new trucks it's almost impossible to get the air flowing directly on with just regular windows

 

If you drink enough water, take enough breaks you can work in hot or cold. Step 1 often is to avoid the internal dialogue about how hard being uncomfortable is. "When I was growing up in the Arctic" is not a good excuse to avoid drinking water in the heat. Sometimes being an adult means adjusting behavior to local conditions. Other people are working in the heat/cold and so can I/they.

 

above 95 F the APU HVAC couldn't keep the sleeper temp cool enough for me(even with windshield curtains closed), so I would idle and use the truck's HVAC.

 

Somebody not used to working in the heat and then just working in it like the guy who's been doing it for 20 years will have problems if they don't ease into it, been there done that.

 

But on a lighter note.

 

I will admit I’m a wimp. No a/c means my truck is out of service until it gets fixed. I’m used to camping so I can sleep pretty warm as long as I can get some air moving and the humidity isn’t terrible, but I need to be comfortable during the day when I’m driving.

When I had my 95 KW I ended up replacing everything because I got tired of having something done and it only lasting a week or so. That was the best money I ever spent that summer. Lol

 

It’s the same as that rush of searing heat onto your face when you open the oven door. Just all day long.
