I've been killing it the last two weeks. Just today I put $1,100 to the truck after diesel, and yesterday was even better. Last week was $6,100 on 1,900 all miles. Money falling from the sky if you're willing to catch it. Just sometimes you have to catch it with an 8' drop tarp.

The government fixed it, they always help…

$4.86 a mile last week over 1400 miles, 3 days off, 300 of them were dead head because I can be fat drunk and stupid sitting in the garage instead of in the truck….

$3 something a mile is still possible.
The problem is I'm use to $4-$6+ a mile on $2000-$3590 revenue days.

Those are become extremely hard to come by now.

    Rideandrepair Thanks this.

Well there is the problem, guys like you got used to the $4-$6 a mile rate, or even better ran out and overpaid for equipment in the last 2 to 3 years thinking those rates were normal, they aren’t. Those rates were historically high, they aren’t the norm in this industry (unless you are specialized) all that’s happened to the rates, is they have normalized.

Now of course, anybody who could fog a mirror, ran out and bought trucks, and got their authority, and now the load to truck ratio is way out of whack. The weak, incompetent people who have no clue how to run a tight profitable business in these lean times, will fade away.

Eventually the pendulum will swing back the other way, and those that survive, will prosper once again. This industry always has been, and always will be a cyclical industry.

We've all had DAYS like that. Day before yesterday was like that for me. Almost six bucks per mile TTT. But you aren't averaging $4-$6+ month over month on five axles. Not even during the boom.
