Yeah, looks like there are different sizes, I've only ever seen 7/16".

I've seen 5/16" on Rockwell, 9/16" on the old manual slacks. I think Haldex and Gunite are both 7/16".

I did manage to back off a brake or 2 on an old cutoff I bought but it took a 3 foot breaker bar with a snipe and a lot of cussing lol. Was just easier to cage the remaining brakes at the end of it.

Don’t forget those bag of #### meritors that are 3/8 square but you need a flathead to hold the lock open on

You can check your trailer solo by hanging something from the johnny bar. I havn't figured out how to check the truck yet.

One other thing, make sure to apply brakes 2 or 3 times fully during every pretrip. This adjusts your slack adjusters (other more knowledgable drivers please correct me if I am wrong)

The one just north of Corning. Weed maybe? How long does a inspection last? I could’ve sworn it lasted no more than 10-15 mins.

On the left, it hangs in there on it's own. On the right is 8-point reversible ratchet. Done and done.

That's the Cottonwood Scale. I deal with them more than any other scale in California and they're usually pretty reasonable.
Of course, like any other scale, pissing them off is always a bad idea.

I won’t argues with you. Go outside with your 7/16’s box wrench & give it a shot.

P.S. it’s easier using a 7/16 socket with a 1/2” drive ratchet. But a good old Craftsmen box wrench will do the job for you

I learned this when i was on top of a landfill & couldn’t get my brakes to release. I had no caging bolts, maintenance guy at the time told me to back them off to get it off the hill. I also drove the son of a gun home 280 miles with the red line hung on the back wall of the cab.
