lol it says the article was co authored by joe navarro and the book he wrote on the same subject was my second choice, thats definitely confusing; i dont have nearly enough information to form an opinion of my own, but from the little ive seen so far it shouldnt be used to determine ones guilt, but rather a tool used to highlight potential areas that need to be explored for further questioning; i do think the article had some key points, such as if someone asked me where i was yesterday morning and i stutter, or pause before answering, maybe im lying or maybe im genuinely just nervous because i have anxiety from being questionedFlint1, singlescrewshaker, Gatordude and 4 others Thank this.

There are a number of articles and some studies concerning this. An internet search will turn up a broad spectrum of arguments, both for and against. Other than to say keep an open mind when studying this, I really don’t want to open that can o worms.

Yeah, it's one of those things where you can't use body language alone as an determination of what someone is thinking inside. It's just a small part in a greater context, but like a lot of stuff people try to make absolutes out of it.singlescrewshaker, Feedman, Gatordude and 5 others Thank this.

Thanks for the info ill definitely have to research both views. On my other book about criminology im on the chapter that tries to define what is crime and who determines what is punishable criminal behavior; for example in some societies it's the majority of people in the country that agrees on what is criminal and what is not, then countries where the people who have political, economical, etc, power define these terms; in short as im typing this on my computer i would say crime is judged by whats considered to be just and unjust, culturally normal or abnormal (like a woman being sentenced to death for kissing a man somewhere like the middle east, or a man being gay, which is far from the case in somewhere like the US), or simply fine tuned to fit the needs and wants of small special interest groups that wield the power in a society.singlescrewshaker, PoleCrusher, exhausted379 and 4 others Thank this.

This video is pretty interesting by Joe Navarro; he seems to take all the negatives mentioned in using body language for admission of guilt and in his interrogations he does things other interrogators dont do such as not sitting right in someones face, putting them in a corner, etc, all to what im assuming is mitigating other misleading factors like anxiety and instead making the person feel comfortablesinglescrewshaker, Czar_Zero, PoleCrusher and 3 others Thank this.

I'll say this one last thing and then shut the hell up since this is a trucking forum haha in the book it also mentions this global organization that originated in Europe somewhere that tries to expand on what the civilians in a single country view as criminal by trying to get other countries to join it and the end goal is to form some global court with no borders, the US being one of the countries that refused and i personally see it as doing more harm than good because i view countries as neighborhoods in a way, some are for some people and some just dont fit in, so one may choose to move to one they like and suits them better because not every neighborhood is the same, nor country and to try and change/force ones laws, views, beliefs, etc onto another society, country, etc, only breathes an endless cycle of conflict because not everyone is the same and nothing will ever change thatsinglescrewshaker, PoleCrusher, MOBee and 3 others Thank this.

it's called, "criminology: a complete introduction" by peter joyce; i purchased it just to get an idea of what im getting into, it immediately reminded me of philosophy in a way which is something i like, thinking things out and asking questions, sure as hell beats criminal justice lol i cant get into case law enough to be a lawyersinglescrewshaker, Espressolane, PoleCrusher and 3 others Thank this.
