Shoulder Tragedy

When I blow a tire I drive to the next exit and pull onto the should there. Too many shoulder accidents from people looking at their phones instead of the road.

 

I had a tire go out on me Monday on US 287 just outside of Childress Tx. Pulled over to assess, no damage just the RFO obliterated.

Got back in my truck and looked in the mirror to see a hot shot pulling a flatbed had moved left for me. A white minivan wasn’t having it and whipped around to pass him on the right. He ended up on the shoulder but got back over before hitting my trailer.

I put the four ways on and drove the four miles into town and got the tire replaced in the safety and comfort of a parking spot. Can’t stand being on the shoulder for any reason or putting a road tech in danger like that.

 

This was a box truck, so he may not have had duals to limp to a safer spot

 

I see that issue all day long. It has become an exponentially increased occurence since this covi-crap started.

I tell ya, if a trucker ever passes me, and then has any impact happen due to a right lane jumper, trucker gonna get a nice clear video clip of it to show to the man.

I see rigs all day long clearing that right mirror proper, but 0.5 second later there's a flippin' car already passing his tandems on the right, and the better chances are that trucker may have my have not know that car was even there, as they're running two feet away from your dock pads!
