I had one of those awhile back. Turned too tight and tore up my trailer in a huge open area then took off. I chased him down to the Pilot and confronted him. Got pictures of his truck, he said that he had no ID but I got his plates, truck number, trailer number, company name and DOT number. I sent the information along with lots of pics to safety and called them right away to make sure they got it all. The guy kept trying to offer me cash and I kept telling him that I cannot except cash since I do not own the equipment he damaged. He continuously kept offering me cash and I had to keep saying no, I need information not cash. I may have been more forgiving had I not had to chase him down the street. Safety kept asking if I called the police. No, I called safety. I told him that if he wants to involve the police he can since he has all of the information but I need to get back to the yard and get my trailer fixed so I can get back to work. Everytime I apply for a job there's background checks, a drug test, etc. Meanwhile there's all these migrant truckers everywhere with no license.

Talk about irony....the trucker hits the victims in the midst of fleeing the scene, then flees the scene himself lmao!!!!! I-10 , in Tucson ain't the place to be running away!

There's a lot of them in west Texas and New Mexico. Don't even have a drivers license much less a CDL but are none the less out here running big trucks. That's just dangerous. I would like to see TxDOT be more proactive in getting them off the road. The one who hit my trailer did so in a large open area. Imagine an area the size of the average Loves or Pilot parking lot with just one truck parked there. How stupid do you have to be to hit that one truck? Then that guy is on the road in traffic!

It was company equipment that got damaged. The company fixed it. I don't know what the company did as far as pursuing the other carrier but I let them do what they do. The company isn't a mega carrier but isn't a mom and pop shop either so with thousands of trucks, multiple terminals and millions in annual revenue they got resources to go after people like that.
