Made it to NE, nice to be out of the snow and ice.

Had an interesting situation yesterday, running west out of KY, I was doing 55 in the slow lane which was semi dry and clear, when a 4 wheeler decided to pass me in the snow lane (which was far from anything resembling clear). When the 4 wheeler gets even with my steers I see in my peripheral vision that he is starting to lose it, he drifts to the left, then to the right, then to the left, so I ease off a little to give him room. Then the 4 wheeler's rear broke loose and had him pointing right toward my hood, so I let off completely and he shoots right in front of me barely missing me and regains control on the dryer pavement of my lane before hitting the ice in the breakdown lane and then drives on like nothing happened.

The armadillo hasn't said a word since and the buzzard was disappointed due to the missed roadkill opportunity.

And before anyone can comment, I had it in my head that I was not going to veer from the relatively safe zone of my lane no matter what the 4 wheeler did, one of us was going to have to survive to explain what happened.

Wow, grow up...threats? Please. I don't know the story, just saw the comments and thought they didn't match the career field. New driver? Wife new to trucking? Whatever. I've seen lots of comments like that.

Do your wife a favor, and grow up before that immature attitude of yours puts you in jail...where she'll really be missing you and you won't be providing her a living.

You did exactly what you needed to do, like you said, one needed to survive, he made the choice to be a dumb #####, he needed to live or die with it not you, Years ago I was east bound on IS 90 from Cleveland, a Volkswagon passed me and got in trouble on a bridge, he did a couple of 360's and wound up going in the right direction and just kept going like it was a normal thing, scared the crap out of me tho!

Today was very interesting end of day. We got our load headed out, and ended up right in the middle of a stand off. Police shut road down, both directions, and we were about the 5th vehicle back. Went to get pictures for news. Don't have a great telephoto lens but got a few great ones. Suspect got out of vehicle several times, all with a gun to his chin, but always got back into vehicle. Sent pictures to local news, and if I can get some up here, I will try. I think the files are to big for this blog. Finally, police got traffic turned around, but two fellow truckers got stuck, they ran out of hours! So far as we know they are still all sitting there, as the stand off continues.

I only have one thing to say we have been at this a year married almost 11 and what you said wasn't warranted this is the 1st major surgery I have ever had and yes I miss my man while I am recouping. He doesn't handle people talking to me like you did sorry to me that is a sign of a real man who loves his wife. I am done with it and will not lose sleep because 1bad said exactly what I thought he would and defend me. I love you baby!!!!
