Silly Aussies... thinking the limiters will have the same effect here as they did there yet forgetting that Australia's population is less than that of Texas alone, yet encompasses 90% the land mass of the lower 48 US states.

It went away because a guy got popped on Hwy 200 and instead of paying the $70 he appealed it twice and after the second time it went to the Montana Supreme Court.

If a National 65mph speed limit for trucks is mandated, does that mean CA will raise theirs to 65?
The 1995 bill to do away with the 55mph speed limit has language in it that the states have the sole right to set speed limits.

Hauling a load of strawberries or a load of ice pack chicken will be interesting.
Can’t wait to see the looks on the receivers faces

and we have some of the most remote roads, some of the harshest roads in the world, driven with some of the longest and heaviest trucks in the world - but you are better coz you are American right? FFS

Get out Google maps and plot a route from:
    1. Sydney to Perth (popular route)
    2. Perth to Darwin
    3. Melbourne to Darwin (3740 kilometers or 2324 miles) or 40 hours driving - look at the landscape on that one in the Northern Territory
    4. Sydney to Darwin
    5. Melbourne to Perth (popular route)
    or the more popular route:
    6. Melbourne to Brisbane then on to Townsville

    7. what about one of the more remote but regular run from Perth to Alice Springs - Google that one and look at the roads on Google Earth

Count to fuel stops and towns (with populations) on routes 1 to 5 and route 7, and let me know. America has nothing to what we have here. Real truckies here do these runs regularly WITH speed limiters - but America is oh so different - give me a break
