Why should we care about the speed limit of another country? Who the heck wakes up one days and wonders wtf is the speed limit in Australia or Africa?

It won’t work for the same reason a lot of their other bs doesn’t work. You can’t put a stupid #### in the cheapest pos you can lay your hands on, pay them nothing and have any of this work right. If they’re going to pay out all the money in suit and skirt salaries and computers instead of investing that money in some nice trucks and truck driver wages, they better soon figure out how to move freight with suits skirts and computers. What they’re trying now doesn’t work. And it won’t, ever.

I'am sure not advocating for speed limiters .. But you winey think you know it all tards that are forecasting massive demolition derbys on the interstate..most of you that are doing whining will be the ones that cause your forecasted pile ups you speak of.
Just because your limited to 65.mph does mean every single truck on the road will run 65 .. some might be governored at 62 mph some might make it to 68 mph.. motors, weights .and terrain . And common sense... will all be determining factor
But common sense seems to be a very limited component in the industry. That is gonna continue be the obstacle.just the same as before the speed limiters
When I started driving the national speed limit was 55 mph.. both cars & trucks .. and yes trucks weren't governored for the most part but most trucks only were able to run 62 to 68 mph a fast truck then was a 80 mph truck and alot of trucks company trucks were governored at 52 & 58 mph..
The fresh produce & beef still got to Hunts Point livestock still made their destination . Once in a while there was a substantial pile up with 12 or 15 vehicles.. nothing like the 40 & 50 vehicle pile ups that we see today. We as truck drivers thought we died and went to heaven when some states raised the speed limit to 60 & 65 mph
As @Trevor 57 said some of you winers crying about this have blinders on and can't grasp the big picture
Still don't understand exactly why our friends from down under got drug into this pity party...
Here's a idea instead of wasting your valuable time & energy complaining on here maybe use it to get your senator or congress person to vote against it .
I said my piece and can't wait to hear the wrath from some of you chicken littles

Yeah, some of us do see the big picture. This has zero to do with safety and more about control of the masses. That and 'leveling the playing field'- all things that point to Socialism and third world dumps. No thanks. I'd rather have my freedoms and capitalism, and have those around me enjoy the same even if it does kill them.

I think if they're gonna limit truck speeds they should do it to cars as well

I don't disagree with YOUR statement .. In fact I 100% agree with you on the reasoning.. and with out trying to drag politics in
This is exactly what happens when the blue party has control.. everything needs to be equal we can't have winners and losers..the sharks are not allowed to eat the minnows

No wrath or whining. Just reality. Most of the boys and girls on here that run into Ontario or Quebec on the regular seem to think speed limiters are a colossally ####ed up idea for some reason. Maybe seeing it in practice through a windshield gives them a little different perspective than people talking about should be’s and what if’s. I’ve lived with the ####ing things for ten years now. I don’t have to guess what happens when speed limiters are mandated, I just have to look outside. From the first mention of a mandate down there what I’ve been saying is to write Congressmen and Senators, throw rocks at ATA reps, pitch demonstration tantrums, make a lot of noise, whatever it takes. Just don’t let them do that. We thought common sense would prevail and they’d never do anything so stupid, look at us now. The ####show on 401 in Ontario and 20 in Quebec since the limiters came honestly can’t be described, you’d have to see it for yourself. Obviously the root of the problem isn’t the limiters, it’s putting stupid people in trucks, same as most of the other problems. They’re not going away anytime soon. But you have to see what happens in practice when you put EVERYBODY in something with an e-log and a speed limiter in it with your own eyes to grasp how bad an idea it really is.

I know you have seen it 1st hand..
And I think it's a bad idea also .. I was getting sick of some of their stupid reasoning why it is a bad Idea
Will it affect me ... probably so .. but I have always marched to the beat of a different drum than the door swingers that are complaining for the wrong reasons because they can't comphere the big picture
That was the point I was trying to make

You’ll probably adapt to overcome same as always, and spend more time out on the 2lanes to get away from it with the rest of us old farts too stubborn to say #### it and just stay home. We’re on the same page though, it would be better to do something to put the brakes on it than cry and try to find work arounds when it’s too late.
