I think so .. Because Ronnie had to put the brakes on the runway inflation that the Peanut farmer kicked into overdrive when he was the leader.. so we all had to pay the piper.... record high interest rates ....and job market was lean... and unemployment was high.. I was young and grew up in the hardest hit sector I'am sure it seemed worse to me.. When I chose my career path the interest rate on the truck I bought was 22.5%
I see the tell tail signs of the same storm brewing today right down to the same mentality at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.

 

Me. In two weeks. Not broke financially (almost though) Just mentally broken. Engine rebuild did a number on my money and my mental wellness. Im still making money and could bounce back but I have no intentions of dropping another penny into this. My frustration has also magnified all the dislikes of being a driver. I hate almost everything and everyone involved with it. And the general motoring public is getting worse.

Sticking my butt back on a drilling rig in PA or WV. In the middle of nowhere with a small group of people. For my sanity.

 

My insurance is up the end of September. That made one year in business. Didn’t pull first load till second week of November. I made mistakes. Probably got in over my head with this old project truck. Everything was going great, just bad timing on engine and economy taking a dump. I don’t regret it. Can’t say I won’t do it again. However, many things would have to change or I would need stronger meds to put up with a lot of the BS encountered daily. Thats the part I can’t overcome. Crappy people. Eff em.

 

I was offered a home daily M-F 7-2:30 position delivering the company’s manufactured product to coal mines. 90-100K. Turned it down. It’s a gravy job. I just have no desire to drive for the time being.

This country is saturated with them there's no escaping them no matter what career you choose
