Rates are crashing and fuel to the moon!

Now this don't make sense. When you say thriving in Trucking business your spouses income doesn't matter.
Good mpg is fine but fuel prices are higher than 1year ago. Rates are in the gutters compared to a year ago. It sounds like your working less so no cheap freight. That ain't thriving that's making it work

If we're being honest most aren't making a killing. We survive. I for one have sat to find good loads. Don't need to work as much as my overhead is low and paid of equipment. But I'm not making what I use to. Work a couple of days net 3k is fine in my books for the time being.

You and your buddy @Chieftains are probably two of the people who jumped into this in the last few years thinking those rates were the “new normal”.

 

No, just hood trucks maybe getting 5.5 mpg on a good day, still running 70/75 mph everywhere they’re going, crying on the cb about high fuel prices, low rates, and that they can’t make money.

 

Sorry buddy. I’ve been doing this a long time. So long in fact I’ve seen braggarts come and go a thousand times. Try a little humility on for size, you don’t know what tomorrow will bring.

Using terms like “maintenance fund” makes me question if he’s not a LP guy. I don’t have a maintenance fund. I have a bank account. And it’s got more than 30k in it. 30k doesn’t go far today
