Greentax2290 is still charging $9.77 but I think next year I'm going to mail it in for the cost of a stamp so one of those 87,000 new employees have something to do.
Closing up shop, or thinking about it?

Local muffler shop just welded the turbo sensor bung onto my new S pipe. Guy says no charge. I flipped him $20, all I had on me. What a deal. That’s how it ought to be. Guess whose getting my Business when I need a muffler.

For the garnish try onions, mushrooms, some seasoning and blue cheese. If done right you can get two different tastes one after another.Another Canadian driver, JoeyJunk, pumpkinishere and 1 other person Thank this. -

All this talk about closing shops making me anxious. Been home over 2 weeks. Dr. and Dentist appointments taken care of for now. Still waiting on parts for the Truck, spending $$$ on the cars too. Just cracked into my safety net. This is usually how it starts. Add an unexpected illness, or major breakdown, things start getting creative. Trying to keep my cool and accomplish what I can. Stress is the real enemy. I try not to let any of it get me too rattled up. Moving money around makes me nervous though. I know how fast it disappears, especially when the Trucks parked.

I think there is too much talk about armageddon or other such animals. That makes me anxious too but more aggravated than anxious. If I think about going to Lowe's to buy a smoky joe on a whim that means that times are not that bad.
For all that I can see nothing is really that different except that the rib eyes are more expensive and gasoline. But the portion of money from my earnings that is devoted to food and such is still not prohibitive and alarming. Inflation means that not only prices have gone up but earnings too. Including those in trucking.
Drivers are still paid 65 c per mile and o/o such as me with a dry van on the spot market -The Miserables - should be at least around $2.5 on 1500 - 2000 weekly miles. A few years back in 2017, and 2019 up to the Covid rate boom staying above 2 dols per mile was not so obvious. And money left after fuel and tolls did not buy more than they buy today. I don't argue that times are good but they are far from a catastrophe. I called 2 days ago at least 4 different dealers and fill out the situation, they did not say that people were getting cold feet and withdrawing orders. If someone got carried away and bought junk for which they pay $4000 a month this certainly isn't good.larry2903, God prefers Diesels, GYPSY65 and 6 others Thank this. -
