LOL Purple trucker... Is that me holding my breath... LOL

I am a newbie... and have not gotten any tickets... and am not interested in collecting them either....

The thing is... good threads get started and then before you know it you are reading line by line arguments and rebuttles... That can be annoying...

My "wait a minute" was just that... I start my posts in a varities of ways... and I had just read RickG post and was like yeah... that's a good point...

This is a good thread... I am sure there are those who have good advice or information and those seeking it.... I just don't want to see it hijacked with line by line arguments...

By applying in person to a smaller company you have a better chance to explain your suspension or whatever than with those online applications... Even when it says "explain here"... your app may get kicked to the pass pile with no one even looking at the explaination... a call to the recruiter may help... but, if you are there in person, you know you get a chance to explain...

Also, those big training companies do alot of recruiting and have more applictions than they can handle... so, the recruiter goes for the easy ones... the ones with no tickets or suspensions to explain....

Smaller companies get fewer applications... so it may be a better option... also, even if they say you need 6 months or more of experience... go in a give it a shot...

I got hired right out of school 0 experience by a local smaller company that says they require 1 to 2 years experience....

Now mind you... I had to do my leg work... and got turned down by several companies before I got it...

It might be a long shot, but it would definitely be worth checking out.

Contact the court attorney, and ask if there is a way you can get the suspension off your record. As a Continuance for Dismissal. I dont know if every state offers these, but if it'll help keep your record clean then it's worth a shot!

I agree with LavenderTrucker and RickG. You should have mentioned another type of company in the post because it just seemed like you were generalizing about training companies.

My license was suspended for about 14 months, due to child support and unpaid fines, i had a little less than 1 year in the field and now i cant find a company to hire me either way. I have been in person explaining my situation and its not working, i have been out of work for 7 months now, and i have to get back on the road somehow.
