Closing up shop, or thinking about it?

They do love to have company. If you are every wanting a high end pom I have a good connection that I have got mine from. Sometimes he has some that are not perfect for breeding and sales for cheaper. $500 cheapest I have seen. Normal price with papers is 2-2.5K out of Missouri. My pup in my Avatar is from him.

The more I see how the rest of the industry is doing, the happier I am that I got out. It's been almost a year since I closed up shop, and the economy just keeps getting worse. Honestly had I not retired when I did, I would have been forced to close up with numerous family commitments and my health. Threw my back out a couple weeks ago then I passed out in the bathroom at 2am from the pain. Now my back is screwed. Looks like I compression cracked a couple of vertebrae so I'm getting by on drugs and rest for the next few weeks. The jury is still out on surgery or not.

It's not only trucking that's suffering right now. Many small businesses are in bad shape. It just seems to happen faster in trucking. Dumped a lot of my stock and converted it to cash. Been buying up properties on the Oregon coast for the last couple months. The market is a crap shoot right now, even more than it usually is. My daughter got married last Saturday and I had to walk her down the isle. I got about 10 feet from the finish line and my back told me to either sit down or fall down. Kissed her on the cheek and told her to finish the rest of the way without me. It was embarrassing as heck. I really hate getting old.
