I think it's just called Chinese buffet, or Hong Kong Buffet. It's right between the Sonic and the WalMart. Food's good, and unless they've changed the price, price is excellent. The Silent One and I can eat, with tip, for under $20.

Yeah, I live down by San Diego and based out of Fontana. Funny thing about this storm, as soon as I heard about it I figured my next load was gonna put me right in the midst of it. Of course I was correct. Hours have been off the past few days, unfortunately haven't been able to take full advantage of them due to being to tired because my hours were off.

Part of me wanted to go further tonight, but even parked the truck is shaking in the wind like a frigate in a typhoon, so you know how it was on the road. #### light loads!

Widow... don't disappear on us, you're part of this strange dysfunctional family.

Good call. We're sitting it out in IN because it's not bad here, but from here to St Louis it's supposedly pretty bad. So, better to stay here and the two of us brave it in the daytime, than decide at midnight it's too bad to continue and be totally unable to find a parking space.

Be careful delivering in spokane, and find out where you're going ahead of time. There's a couple low bridges in downtown, and if you're going up on Freya to deliver, they've torn out at least 2 bridges for weight restrictions, and ther alternate route takes a while, and I don't think they one you're supposed to take is marked.

Well jess and i got a truck today but not the kind you might think it's a 1994 GMC 2500 4x4 i spent a good chunk of the day cleaning it up and putting a tool box on the bed. i do miss the big trucks from time to time as i am driving to the reserve center. maybe when i officially retire from the Army i will consider driving again but next time around i just buy my truck and not lease it. Tomarrow we will take the rest of the gear we had on the Big truck and put it into storage. I hope everyone is staying safe out on the big road. JJRanch.

How long until you "retire"? Being a USNR-ret I understand that drill (pun intended). Are you Active duty reserve? Little different animal. The food does suck in the chow hall, but it is cheaper than a truck stop.

i can't remember the names. but there's a really fantastic chinese buffet in RI also. not too far from Arpin Van Lines. East Greenwich, RI. the chinese buffet not only had all the fixings. but every dessert available also. i always crawled out of that place. 24 hours before i was hungry again.

looking up on google though. the restaurant that comes up is China Buffet. 1000 division road. East Greenwich.

there's also a buffet about 30 miles south of dallas on I-45. killer meatloaf and potatoes and yams. they have a dirt pad in back that's big enough for about 10 trucks to manipulate around and fit in. i never saw more then 4 so it wasn't a big news flash with truckers.

i tried looking at google for the exact town. but none of the exits look familiar. but it's been a long time. so i couldn't tell if either of those places still exist. i can tell you all that there are billboards for the buffet south of dallas. so you can't miss it.

OK, did i miss something? Widow is leaving? I am lost here. My hubby is no longer a trucker but i still post. A lot of people who post here seem to be leaving. Hope everyone is well.
JJ, let me know how things are going. We also turned in a lease because they promised miles and got none. We have yet to receive nasty grams from them but i'm sure they will get around to it...lol
