I run local, My next set are gonna be those Firestones. I have Bridgestones on now on the steers, and I’m getting funky wear on the drivers side only. I had a set of Firestone’s on my old 94 Pete, best wearing tire I ever had, @staceydude still has them on I believe.

Got the alignment done
hows the wear exactly? Wondering if we’re experiencing the same type.Diesel Dave Thanks this. -
The funky wear seems to be on the middle of the tire, it’s not extremely bad but noticeable. I have roughly around 70k on them.OhNoTerry and Another Canadian driver Thank this.

The Firestone FS591 and Bridgestone R283S Ecopia are the same exact tire. Sidewall branding is all that is different.
Bridgestone released the R213 Ecopia steer last year. It is their new premium steer with the decoupling shoulder grooves needed for better wear. I got two 11r24.5’s last Oct before they were released as promo. I haven’t mounted them yet. I decided to hold off because covid plant production has been a train load of defects for the industry. Even if and especially if I got Mich’s i’d do the same.Another Canadian driver Thanks this. -
My 591s are wearing perfectly. That's what's going on again and the other truck too when it's time. I run them at 105psiOhNoTerry and Another Canadian driver Thank this.

Maybe some will disagree with this, but I've been a fan of spending the extra $25 or so for 16 ply (load range H) steer tires, regardless of what non-chinese brand I get. They tend to survive pothole strikes a measure better than the more common 14 plys do.
FWIW I use Goodyear Endurance LHS (formerly G399). They're a mediocre to decent tire, but the service I get from their dealer network is unbeatable. The Michelin or other may run a few more months, but not worth the extra cost and giving up the service level I get from GY.OhNoTerry, Long FLD, Accidental Trucker and 1 other person Thank this. -
Yes, still on there and still looking good.

The FS591 and R283S aren't the same tire.. 5 vs 4 rib design (larger outer rib), outer shoulder is solid on 591, different rubber compounds used, different equalizer ribs, and load range differences (283 is load range h only)
Another Canadian driver Thanks this.
