I pulled one for a couple years.
Probably why I am bald, and have nightmares. -
Ive owned a mechanical and hydraulic. I now pull a hydraulic mini deck. I couldnt imagine having a mechanical mini deck, if im trying to get as low as I can for high freight, if needed, I need to be able to raise it up quickly for whatever situation you may and will run into.

Hydraulic hands down and wet kit on the truck especially if you aren’t planning to use it often. I have never used the mechanical type but have seen other drivers working hard to get more clearance when all I have to do is get out and move the handle. Actually I don’t even have to do that if I snap the deck lift handle into raise detent I can raise and lower without getting out of my seat. And my pony motor is already running and never runs out of gas. The Hondas are pretty darn good but I have nightmares about pony motors after being left in a bad spot twice when they wouldn’t run right.
