Hazprints, no wonder companies who hire and don't require haz endorsments seem to stress it more than when I was trucking. Hope my job keeps holding on to me. Not that I have anything to hide but with a 24/7 job it is hard to keep current and just another way to steal home time from a person to run around on their own time. Sorry to go a little off on the politics but nice to know if I have to get back in the drivers seat to look for companies who don't require haz. Keep up the posts Warp I am learning a lot about today's world.

Not sure about the types they have, Clay. Hopefully super 10's for me as that's what I've been learning on...as for the physical, I'm stressing on it, but I'm sure I don't need to be. Holding the same position for 3 minutes doing anything isn't the easiest thing to do......

Thanks to all for the well wishes. I'm sure that by tomorrow afternoon, I'll have another part of the CDL tests completed....

i agree with ya GBRob! i am absolutely in love with 387. long noses dont appeal to me that much. and backing between too nice shiny o/o petes would be so scary and nerve racking. dont think i could do it....

    GBRob Thanks this.

If you're tired and out of hours and the only spot left is between those two Petes I bet you'll do it. I got one of about four open spots last night at a TA in Oregon and all of them were in the part of the lot with no lights at all. I only had one Pete to worry about--the other was a Columbia--but it didn't matter 'cause I couldn't see it anyway. That parking job turned out to be easy compared to backing to the dock at the Vancouver terminal this morning, which itself was easy compared to getting in the hole at my second stop this morning. I feel like I'm in New Jersey or something.

Oh, and almost all of our transmissions are standard 10s, which are much simpler than a Super 10. You won't have any trouble adjusting to them at all.

You'll get it no problem Warp. I'm sure you've heard that truckers are pretty nuts out there with guys trying to back giving them hell, but I've had decent experiences with it all. The worst is coming off the road after a 14 hr / 11 hr driving and finding that last spot, that's a little tight and you know you have to GOAL. But, It's better to GOAL then to hit that truck. My advice to you. Practice backing as much as you can at W/S during the 10-day orientation. They'll have all the trailers lined up and you can find yourself a tight spot and back in and out of that. It'll help you get the mechanics down and visualize what the trailer's going to do. It's what I did, and I still use the training yard drills that I made for myself everytime I back into a spot next to two $150,000 trucks with both drivers watching me. I'll add, I usually get two thumbs up, but that's just cause I'm good :biggrin_25523:

Best of luck out there bro. Shoot me a PM once you're in Mudzoola doing ur Orientation.
