Serious question, have any of the emissions parts fallen off this truck? If they have, the answer might possibly be different.

    Oh yeah,that too…
Any used truck you look at you’ll want to find a mechanic you trust to look it over first,if the seller allows it.

Pretty sure only Detroit uses the “one box”.
And also pretty sure it was after 2013.
    I could be wrong.

Right now is probably not the best time to get started as an O/O but if you feel you must and are ready, have some savings to start on
My advise would be to first rule out any brand of truck you just don't like, all the emission trucks have issues and are expensive to operate.
then if your buying used do so from a reputable dealer that has a service shop ( not a roadside auction truck dealer) and get the newest lowest mile
truck you can afford, stay on top of the maintenance ....keeping the truck on the road is key to survival...get to know your truck inside and out even
if you don't do the maintenance yourself. know the common issues with your brand engine / truck and stay ahead of them with preventative maintenance .
all that and some good luck.......you will survive being an O/O

2012 and 13 were not good years for isx engines due to the carbon packing issue that takes out the liners , mine started using oil at about 520k and by the time it hit 684k I had quit changing the oil it was using so much .
Tear down for complete inframe at 684k revealed all 6 liners polished , rings carbon packed and cam lobes flat .
A year after the inframe the aftertreatment system went into a down hill slide that I spent 11k on in 10 months and still couldn't keep it out of the shop....that issue is permanently fixed and it's been a great truck every since with just over a million miles on it now.
I wouldn't give alot for that truck and if you do buy it make sure you have access to about 50k in cash ...if not I wouldn't have it gifted to me.

    Don't buy anything now.
Freight rates are still crashing, soon truck prices will be too.

Wouldn’t pay over 30k. Many of the responses are spot on. See @bzinger above.

If it wasn’t mentioned, the self destructing fuel pumps were awesome.

Have you stopped by Cummins to get the history on the engine serial # yet?
