Wow,most of the fueling stations outside of California have dropped to around $4.30 a gallon for diesel or lower. Gasoline wise it’s down to around $3.39 for regular to $4.00 for premium.

North Las Vegas currently, some of the lowest prices 8 News Now has seen is $4.99 a gallon for regular. “It’s actually $5.89 up the street and $6 dollars plus on the strip,” said Randy Bell.

One thing I've noticed around me is that you certainly pay for that "convenience" of having a fueling station close to the interstate. It's not uncommon to see regular unleaded .10 - .30 cheaper per gallon at even a small player like KwikTrip (my favorite midwestern convenience store/shameless plug).

Curious for you O/O's, would the fuel perks at places like costco even be worth the out of the way and limited availability headaches?

Does Costco sell big truck fuel?

Most of us already get a decent discount but diesel that’s not for big rigs doesn’t have all that extra tax we need to pay. That’s why a gas station across the street from a Truckstop is less

Welp, i learned something. Thanks Gypsy65!
To us uninitiated diesel is diesel. Very familiar with cetane, briefly worked for the company that invented the octane/cetane cfr engine. Super cool and i have ZERO idea why i volunteered for the fire brigade at that one. Brownie points for sure.

I had zero idea it was taxed that way. I knew ag diesel/red was cheaper even though it's the same darn thing. I heard it was a big ole' fine if you got caught running red on the interstate/highways though i don't think County/Local focuses on those types of violations. I'm sure those state boys do. Met a few, Joe Friday serious focus with little sense of humor that are well versed in State/Federal motor vehicle statue.

I buy my diesel fuel at Costco. However, it’s a project, have to drop the trailer for starters, and the pumps are made for 4 wheelers(there slow) and it only pumps up to $225.00 at a time, so that means I have to go thru the process of getting the pump going again usually about 4 times. The whole process takes me about 45 minutes. Sometimes I wonder if saving $0.75 gallon is worth it.

    Thanks Dave.

Assuming 2500 miles per week @ 5mpg that's 500 gallons of fuel weekly.
Say you only work 42 out of 52 weeks a year that equates to 21,000 gallons per year
    21,000 x .75 = $15,750

15k a year. Isn't that what most trucks average a year for maintenance/repair bills average unless you do the work yourself or own a Freightliner?:p

    No.

Besides I get a large discount for buying lots of it.
    Costco wouldn't offer truckers discounts.

In fact the less i go near a costco, the better.
