That is totally accurate.
I came out of an 1990 IHC 9700 high-rise cabover into the 2000 Argosy
The engineering on the IHC dated from 1980, the Argosy was designed in the late 1990's
The ride difference was like night and day.
I knew it, Freightliner knew it, but the marketplace was stuck with the old impression of cabovers from the 70's and before which were horrible. I had several of them. No amount of sales or technical data could shake the bad reputation. Cold, noisy, bad ride, hard to get into.
Freightliner gave up after 6 years(in 2006) on the North American market with the Argosy and concentrated on the export market which had no prejudice against the layout.
