I am looking for a true OTR company - a company where I can get to ALL 48 plus Canada - I don't care about home time - but I get bored being stuck on the east coast all the time - I like to run EVERYWHERE. Solo, OTR, Van - I got 12 years experience, a passport, hazmat, FAST, clean MVR. I do have 1 accident on DAC, but not on MVR. I live in SC, near Augusta, GA.

Does anyone have any suggestions of a company where the solo driver will get to truck out west and the north west - everywhere basically.

Yes, I am one of those weirdos who still loves to see our beautiful country. No, this has never gotten old to me.

I don't know how you feel about reefer but E.L. Henderson goes about everywhere. Lot's of west coast and back. Not so much east coast but occasionally. Good luck!

You may try Stevens Transport. I am starting orientation March 7, 2010. They are a irregular route carrier, run all 48 states and Canada. They do run only reefer though. I'm looking forward to it. Their typical time out is 5 weeks and 5 days at home. Average length of haul is 1500 miles. The are out of Dallas, Run nice equipment, Kenworth t2000. Check them out!:biggrin_25519:

That is an owner operator operation to pick where you want to go. Best bet is if you know someone leased on to a carrier or working with a carrier that has owner operators and have them send in your resume (with references) in case someone who runs a few trucks is looking for a driver. Key word is few and not one unless you know them.

Have you tried Crete, I was leased to them for 6 years, lived in my truck, ran 48 and Canada. I stayed out 3 to 4 months, and then would get a hotel room for a couple of days. I was a happy camper back then.
