I was inches from losing my life today on US95….idiot fuel tanker pulling doubles seriously thought he could pass a line of about 15 cars and trucks before getting to me. I had to move to my right onto the small strip of shoulder and the cars in front of the line on his side had to do the same for him to go down the middle between us cuz there was no other way. Too many idiots with a CDL out here….

I could not agree with you more. This morning going north on 1-81, I have never seen "professional truck drivers" exhibiting so many pure blunders. Thought keeps running thru my head, "what the hell am I doing out here @87 years old with these idiots".

These idiots in big trucks are end result of them handing out cdl’s like candy instead of keeping high standards…

What we are witnessing today is the result of what is coming out of these "driving schools". Unlike the training most of us had years ago, "ONE ON ONE". I learned from a dear friend, rode mile after mile with him and he taught, cussed and laughed at me. But that was some 60 years ago and we buried that dear friend a couple of years ago and I stood over his casket and the thought ran through my mind, the lessons I learned from him.

I agree with that school stuff. I learned one on one as well being my grandfather, dad, uncles and cousins all had their CDLs and used a triaxle dump truck and construction trailer from a friend to take my test in. Got rapped on the knuckles with a ruler if I grinded the gears, lol! They need to bring back or allow one on one cuz some of tgese schools teach nothing.

First thing I learned when I got into training with Abilene:

CDL schools teach you how to pass a CDL driving test. They don't teach you how to drive a truck.

Finished a 34 in Reno yesterday and get a broker load to Mira Loma, Ca. Said was due today at 0930. Show up and check in and the girl behind the window says the load isn’t due til the 25th at 0930 which is Tuesday. So now Im waiting at Colton to see what they are going to do. Somebody screwed up somewhere….
