Hello guys, I've been a local company driver for a FedEx Ground contractor for a year now. I'm wanting to become an Owner Operator and want to know what opportunities and some things to know about the dump truck business, especially where you guys find your loads or where you guys found your dispatcher at. If it helps I'm based out of Tampa, FL.

I wouldn't be doing an end dump. It would be a regular dump truck that you would need a class B for.

Tampa is a great area for dump trucks, Daniel mullins comes to mind first, but you also have new line, soil tech, T. Disney, Jason’s hauling, the list goes on really. I’d lease on to those guys to start and then see if it’s even worth venturing out on your own, might not be, they keep their guys rolling all year long. Get a tri-axle though, that’s where your money will be made.
