Is it possibly to tie a new LLC to a DOT account?

    Last year I decided to start a trucking operation so I got a DOT number (not active) and an LLC linked to it. Due to some unforeseen circumstances, I had to postpone this venture so I ended up terminating the LLC . The DOT remains, but not active.

    If I decide to jump back into this, with a new LLC, am I able to tie this new company to the DOT I had opened in the past? Or do I need to start the DOT process all over again with the new LLC/company?

    I dont know how the time lapse works, but when we moved states i had to start a new LLC in the new state. Called fmcsa and told em what was happening. All they required was a paper mcs150. The ein number cant be updated online so they said paper was the only way to do it. Took about 3 days for them to process.
