I am on day three, the first day was a road test and a ua, lots of pressure on the test as it was pass or go home! The clutch on the trucks in school was like a car, the cluthes in these Peterbilts are serious! Then they had me do the skills test and it was tougher than school for sure but I passed easily. I am getting a trainer that runs central cal and is home on the weekends, which they said means I am home on the weekends too.................! She asked me if thyat was ok with me and I said no problem!!! So far my experience with May has been better by far than I expected and I expected great things. More later

Just got approved for hire by May. Noticed you are an O/O with them. Would appreciate any objective info on how to maximize miles while staying within company guidelines. Been driving for 17 years, last 7 have been LTL delivering in Phx, Tolleson, Avondale, Goodyear, Buckeye and Tonopah. Time to open it up and roll again.:Road:

Hey snake. Was the road test just around the block, or did you do any freeway driving? I'm here at Swift almost done with orientation but if I can get on with May I'd gladly go with them.

It was on freeway, and in town as well as country roads. it is a pass or go home so be prepared, but most of all RELAX!. They also do a skill test that consists of some alley docks, serpentine backing, and a very tight 180 tun with lots of stuff to hit!, also pass or go home.

This company is awesome, everyone I have meet is pleasent. I know there is good and bad with every company, I just haven't seen any bad yet here...... but I am VERY NEW! Good luck what ever you do.

I agree with you Kabar, Right now freight is very slow with most solo drivers getting around 2k per week. The good thing I hear from talking to drivers in the lounge is May doesnt favor O/O or Lease drivers over solos. Marvin has made it clear that the DM's are to be fair in loads assigned accross the board. That includes the very few teams we have which are O/O with a partner in the truck.

Company driver. I know it makes a lot of difference. I am aware that freight is slow right now. The LTL company I have been working for does not have enough work for everybody. Just one of the reasons I am going back over the road. Ready to shut the door, shut my mouth and roll.
