Have a 2009 Mack GU with intermittent loss of power. It will drive fine all day sometimes but other times it will randomly die. When it shuts off there is always an ABS light that reads "communication with engine lost." After it dies, you have to cycle the key until the ABS light goes away or it will not start or even crank. You can jump the starter so it will crank but it still won't start. We have spent hours testing wires, relays, solenoids, fuses, literally everything it could possibly be and we are at a loss. Has anyone experienced/found a solution for this problem?
Mack dealership said to change ECM, we changed it and it didn't fix the problem.

Have you scanned it for codes? It could be a data link issue.

Bendix EC60 or EC80 ABS? Working with other brand trucks, I don't have a lot
of Mack experience. The Bendix ABS system is the first module on the data link
to complain when there is a data link problem.
With the key off measure the resistance between the J1939 pins in the diagnostic
port. the resistance should be 60 ohms. measure between each J1939 pin and a good
ground, resistance should be infinite. With the key on measure the voltage at each
pin to a good ground, the voltage should be close to 2.5 volts with one being slightly
higher than the other.
You could also have a harness rubbing on something and intermittently shorting to ground. -
Did you ever figure out the problem?
