Truck died on me on Friday night, due to low fuel pressure. There was a leak from under the filter housing, when I tried to prime system. Had to be towed to the dealer. After replacing the housing they found that the fuel pump had to be replaced as well. Picked up the truck today and the same problem happened. There is a leak from under the housing. Drove only 200 miles. It seems like the problem is somewhere else, any ideas ?
The same codes as previously:

16 dtf p008700

First I have seen on this one. Following as well. Did you see any cracks on the hoses or the housing? Any pictures you can share?Another Canadian driver Thanks this.

Being honest not - don’t have any pictures
Today I got it fixed, but not positive for how long it would last.
That’s dealers comment
“Found fuel leaking from primer pump button. Removed screws and primer top. Found internal pump to be loose and not secured into place. Tabs on internal piece are bent outward. Installed new primer. Truck ready for service”Another Canadian driver and Siinman Thank this. -
That sounds like a good fix for what you have said. New parts can be messed up and most likely it was a refurb part since most are on back order.Ik73 and Another Canadian driver Thank this.

So you think there couldn’t be such condition, when the fuel pressure suddenly grows too high, so it could damage what I mentioned above?
I really appreciate your help, drove around 200 miles so far. Will let you know if smth happens again.Another Canadian driver and Siinman Thank this. -
Sounds like it was fixed in my eyes. Does anything feel wrong when you drive? Fuel is not leaking anymore correct?Ik73 and Another Canadian driver Thank this.

Nothing is wrong now, but it never been wrong before. Nothing was leaking until just suddenly truck just stops running. I’ll keep you updatedAnother Canadian driver and Siinman Thank this.

Something gave and caused air in the fuel. That caused the fault codes so it makes sense on how it happened. Good luck on future with it. Should be good to go make some money.Ik73 and Another Canadian driver Thank this.

Couple days and no problems since. Do you think I can blame mechanics at first place? Since they replaced the filter housing and missed the problem with the primer pump or I just not fully installed it into place.
-
I would guess they did nothing wrong and it was just faulty part. It happens to the best of everyone. Now if you have a relationship with the company then I would maybe ask for a favor be repaid when needed. If it is a one off shop just move on and forget about it. They will not do anything to offset it.m
