Man Accused Of Tattooing Toddler's Rear End

LOUISVILLE, Ohio -- Police say an Ohio man tattooed the letter "A'' on the rear end of a 1-year-old girl visiting his home.

Twenty-year-old Lee Deitrick of Louisville was arraigned Wednesday on a felony child endangering charge in Canton Municipal Court.

Authorities say there's no evidence the toddler's mother permitted the November tattooing. It's not clear what the letter "A'' signifies.

Deitrick's grandmother calls the tattoo "a wee-little hairline" and says there's hardly anything left of it. Louisville Police Chief Andrew Turowski says the tattoo is smaller than a dime.

A message seeking comment was left at the office of Deitrick's attorney after the arraignment.

Bond was set at $250,000. If convicted, Deitrick could face up to five years in prison.

I do not care how much of the Tattoo was left, If it was my child that he marked on I would sue him, and he would never forget it!!!!!

Oh, This gets me fired up! U know the mom knew. Come on u gonna leave your 1 year old with some gut? NO!!! These mothers that let bad things happen to there babies need to be put to sleep! Things like this just make me sick!!!

Whatever his reasoning, Lee M. Deitrick thought it wise to tattoo a toddlers bottom.

It wasnt even his child.

Now the 20-year-old Louisville man has learned his punishment. He was sentenced Wednesday to three years in prison.

Deitrick pleaded guilty in Stark County Common Pleas Court to two felony child endangering charges as part of a plea deal with county prosecutors.

Deitrick tattooed the outline of the letter A on the childs buttock. The mark covers about one-half inch.

The mother a friend of Deitricks left her then-19-month-old at Deitricks W. Main Street home for a few hours on Nov. 7 while she visited a friend in the hospital, said Katie Chawla, assistant Stark County prosecutor.

One of the childs relatives, 17-year-old Brandi Nelson, held the girl across her lap, Chawla said.

I dont know whose idea it was. It was late in the evening and apparently somebody thought it was a good idea, Chawla said
