$70,000 a year? To train and be gone months at the time? What a deal!!!!

I make more than that home every weekend, and 2 times in the middle of the week and don’t have to worry about training anybody.

 

When I was a trainer for another outfit I made good money but it’s not worth it.
You have to be daddy, mommy, psycho therapist, guidance counselor, provider, and trainer all wrapped up into one not to mention I didn’t sleep more than 2 hours at anytime the entire time I was a trainer

 

Can ur trainer drive if there trainee run out of hours

 

Yes, at least that used to be the case.

 

When I was a trainer i was required to reserve some available drive time in case my students ran out of time or got into a jam, and I needed to maneuver the vehicle. No issue at all during the CLP 14-day phase as with a 14-hour clock and the student being able to drive 11 there was always 3 hours available for me to drive. We also had a 40k mile rule that students had to team drive with a trainer after they got the CDL. While the student had the license, we could use the safe haven clause to park the vehicle at the first safe place if the trainee ran into trouble during that period. I did have some students wake me up from sleeper time to assist on a few occasions. Most of the time it was that they felt more comfortable in a particular situation with me in the passenger seat to provide verbal guidance through something. This was still counted as off duty time so I could still get my 10-hour break. Sometimes it was to act a spotter so they could back into a spot. That is part of being a trainer, if they get mad because you woke them up, maybe they should not be trainers?
