Can you explain why you feel this way? As a driver, overall, the whole shebang, from your personal presentation to your performance behind the wheel, would you say that you are below average, average or above average? And what part of the job do you think you can improve the most?

I feel like a newbie when I have to go to a shipper I haven't been to before. I hate playing the guessing game...two warehouses that belong to the same company can have totally different procedures.

And don't let anyone tell you that you need to upgrade to any other type of trucking. Most of the best paying jobs are dry van.

Well, Only Thou Shalt Knoweth The Time Of Thy Awakening.
Whenst Your True Self Not Forsaketh Thy Self Advancement In Earthly Activities and Recognizith Thy True Potential, Thou Shalt Set Thyself Free, Lest One Prefereth The Lesser Chambers Of Growth.

    I started Driving O.T.R. in late 1998.
I considered My Self Experienced after 1 Year.
    I've pulled 48' & 53' Dry Vans. 48' & 53' Flatbeds (Skateboards). 48' & 53' Reefers.
When One can Back and not hit anything other than the Target, Experience is gained EVERY Time.
When One can Drop a Trailer without forgetting to Lower Landing Gear, One Has Experience.
When One successfully Hooks a Trailer without Jumping The 5th Wheel, one has Experience.

Unless one LEARNS from Every Trucking Activity and LEARNS either something new or something better, one has experience.
If One Has No Idea What One Is Doing Yet Is Safely Successful, One Has Experience.

Now if You Have "7 years of experience" in accidents, incidents, multiple companies, you're still experienced.

Even though I have not driven a Class 8 Vehicle since late 2019 or early 2020, I know I have the ability to do such again. I Just have No Interest, BUT I'm still Experienced!

    CHEERS!!

I think it's just because of the ease of the job, after 3 months I really didn't have much else to learn, maybe some "life hacks" along the way but other than that theirs not really much to this career it seems.

So with that in mind, it makes me feel like I don't know enough because it can't be this simple?

That does beg the question: what KIND of experience. Rolling a truck IS an experience…., lol.
