Someone kept trolling him in the mega USPS thread and trying to make things political, and then the whole thread disappeared. I'd be pissed off too if I spent years helping people and it all gets wiped out instead of simply taking care of the instigators.LilRedRidingHood, JOHNQPUBLIC, just_sayin and 2 others Thank this.

Hi I just recieved a job offer from them in Southern California. But I'm not sure if I want to take it because I have a fuel Delivery carrier job lined up. The fuel Delivery pay is guaranteed but the Usps benefits are great. Starting off as Tractor Trailer Operator, do you know if the hours and overtime are good? If it's atleast 60 hours a week and starting pay is around 30hr I will take it.

It’s been a long time since I worked for a postal carrier I didn’t work directly for usps but the guys starting out with usps then and out of Charlotte NC did good to get 40 hour week. You will most likely make more running fuel benefits at fuel carriers are generally not that good and expensive.USPS has good benefits but a lot time don’t pay as much as some think.TankerYanker36 Thanks this.

Got it thanks. Good to know. I'll have to decline the offer for now. Bills piling up, money more important right now lol

I’m on my 2nd month of starting at USPS. Great trucking job, time and a half after 8, double time after 10. Get night shift differential and a Sunday premium, start out as a PTF and work schedule posted week to week unless you can land a hold down on someone’s vacation/absence. Depends where you work, you can make regular pretty quick but it’s about 2 years.
I actually enjoy working week to week as it gives you variety and not the same runs…can be boring/super easy routes. We have routes that are 42 miles and 3 stops for the whole shift!!
That’s all of the top of my head for now, off to work soon so y’all be good now!Slumber Pass, LilRedRidingHood and dwells40 Thank this. -
Are you getting any OT? I was told as a PTF I wouldn't get much OT until I become a Regular.
-
I know each place is different, supposedly PTF’s aren’t supposed to but I’ve gotten some OT here and there nothing major. Working nights makes up for it because you get a night shift differential and a Sunday premium if you work Sunday’s. I can’t complain about the checks for 8 hour days.Slumber Pass Thanks this.
