Another way I have come to see this crap. I pretend everyone on the road, including on ramps (heck especially on ramps!), is my little old blind Mother.
Live like that. -

I’ve had a few follow me to the truck stop but they never seem to want to get out of thier truck and put it on the line.
By the sounds of it you wrestled? -
I usually give them a chance to spped up and merge in front of me, if no courage is expressed, I will keep on going. I’ve tried to slow down for those morons couple times just to see them come to complete stop anyways. Other times they will race you to the ditch trying to idk, show that they were somehow entitled to merge exactly at that point where my truck was. Merging into traffic is very difficult for people it seems, but part of the blame is also on the infrastructure, most interstates are 2 lanes each way, which is not enough in many places.
Rideandrepair Thanks this. -
Heading in to Columbus Oh on US33, just before the I 270 interchange. Rush hour, all lanes packed rolling about 10 mph. Suit and tie in a Lexus comes down the ramp and runs right beside me. I had left a good three car lengths in front of me, just for merging traffic. Mr. suit just rolled down the ramp beside my tractor until the ramp ended. Whereupon he drove right into the side of my truck. I pulled over, called the law and downloaded my dashcam video to the laptop. Cop talked to Mr. suit, watched my footage, thanked me and copied the video to a thumb drive and ticketed the lexus driver. No damage to my rig, but my steer tire lug nuts done a number on the lexus drivers door.

Hold it steady, let them figure it out. Getting nervous and anxious and changing lanes at the last minute may eventually result in an accident. Usually because another impatient 4 wheeler decides to whip around the two of you. Guess who gets the ticket, for leaving their lane and running into them? ####### that doesn’t know how to merge, goes on clueless.

My truck is 62 so I'm basically forced to always stay in the right lane out of courtesy. I deal with terrible mergers all day. I get excited when I see a huuuge line of cars about to merge, especially when the next lane is full of middle lane riders. little old me has no choice but to stay here and watch them get pissed off that I'm in the way. to be fair I'm not a complete ahole. I do slow down to make an obvious gap for a few cars
