    If one knows what they are doing they can get around the windy areas or only have to stop for a few hours.

    I ran across WY twice a week, every week for nearly 5 years and only ever had to stop for wind a handful of times with REALLY light loads. If youve got 35k + in the box then you should be fine most of the time provided you slow down. But if it gets really slick with high winds, or the winds start gusting 60+ mph then it's best to stop even if loaded to 80k gross.

    In my experience such extremely bad conditions were pretty rare, but not unheard of. I was stuck in Laramie grosing 79,900 for over 48 hours once because gusts were over 70 and sustained of 55+ for the whole of 2 days... And it was extremely slick on top the wind. I was finally able to slip through to Nebraska in the middle of the night as soon as the winds died down a little... By dawn is was completely closed because of a couple of major wrecks.
