Could be rotten lines or a bad pick up tube in the tank. Can you make up and install a test suction line to from the fuel pump to the tank to by-pass the fuel lines?

You said you checked for power at the fuel lock with the key on. Was this before you first started it or after it died or both.
-
i checked for power before and after it shuts off
Today i disconnected the fuel feed line going to the fuel filter, i put a hose onto it and straight into the can of fuel, it cranked for a long time because i assume it was full of air, it started up and did not shut off. i left it siting like that and i will try to start it tomorrow morning to see if it will start right up and shut off or stay running.
If it shuts of tomorrow morning again then i guess its not a problem with fuel, i will then start checking sensors and ill have someone come by to scan it to see if anything shows up. And most likely take it to a shop to try figure it out. I am just afraid they will start replacing things that dont need to be replaced and ill get stuck with an expensive bill.
Is there a chance that the check valve spring could get weaker and slowly loose pressure if the truck sits for a few hours? i did order a new one and will have it monday afternoon it is around 100$. But if it is not something that can go bad there is no point of me buying and replacing it. -
I have the same problem was wondering if u got it fixed and how

Stupid question. When you turn your ket to on position does your engine shutdown light light up? Wanna make sure bulbs not burnt out.
When my coolant level sensor went it would start then the shutdown light would come on then shut me down, that's why I ask.
If your trucks like my 99 9300 it may have a diagnostic switch on the dash. With the key on the on position hold the diagnis tic switch (or cruise set/resume) to see if any codes flash. -
I had that problem with mine and it was the luber-finer filters I was using that was causing it.
I thinks it's a fuel/air problem for sure. Low water protection will do it to but the exhaust makes me think otherwise. -
I am having the same problem. Did you figure out what was causing it?
-
Are you losing prime overnight or does it start up right away and then shuts off?
-
Truck would start and then shutoff after a few seconds.
When the solenoid looses 12v power it cuts the fuel. -
I have the same problem but have recently cleaned out the fuel system and replaced the fuel lines the hard lines forward. I have a daveco on the truck inline in front of the stock filter. I also cleaned the small final filter on the high-pressure side.
If I prime the truck via the Davco top , she fires right up then shuts down as soon as the filter empties out.
There is a huge vacuum on the Davco when I open it up. The motor is pulling fuel bigtime but something is shutting off / plugged or dirty up-stream towards the tanks.
First time it started this way it ran for a month just fine and now its doing it again. I have a algicide/stabilizer in the tank for the last week but that hasn't done the trick. Any ideas on where to check next would be appreciated ?
