I lift weights and can deadlift 450lbs for 5 reps so 4 batteries ain't too bad. Not even a full 5 rep set lol.
Why did we stop using a single giant battery, and now use 3 tiny batteries?

I like 4d batteries and put them in lots of stuff but it might make more sense to ask why water doesn't flow uphill.Another Canadian driver, gentleroger, Jubal Early Times and 1 other person Thank this. -
Really old trucks sometimes had 6v batteries wired in series to get 12v.
The main reason for group 31 is availability and standardization. Group 31 is used in pickup trucks, farm equipment, and all types of construction equipment. They are universal because of you just have a smaller engine to start you can use 1 battery, and just keep adding barriers at electrical needs increase for bigger vehicles.
A main improvement for class 8 trucks would be to switch to 24v. 24v starts a big engine so much better than 12v, you can use smaller wiring, and you don’t have near the voltage drop running wire long distances.D.Tibbitt, Another Canadian driver, gentleroger and 2 others Thank this.
