Most people do not understand the forklift business as it it practiced.

I buy a machine for $1200,00, used truck the dealer only offered owner.$800 in trade. I steam clean it, put on a set of tires, new current seat and belt.
Any other little knobs, bulbs, and tighten up any looseness, say $500.00 I rent it out for enough to recover my costs (purchase + refurbish).
By now, it has been used by several different people and still engine, trans, hydraulics have shown no problems. Offer with a 30 day warranty.
For $4800.00. 4 times purchase price. The basis is, what I paid for it (and sometimes potential buyers know) has absolutely no bearing on what I am
selling it for. It is a ?? capacity forklift, cranks, runs, lifts and tilts. (definition of a lift truck). Does the same job as a new 18K one. What is to worry?

The one load of Christmas trees I hauled got a few tiny branches for the cats when I was driving Casper.

    They were remarkably un-excited.

But the truck did smell very Christmasy.

Mom used to make something she called "Hamburger Soup."

The old man loved it, was my least favorite.

Loaded in background building, pulled to here and Edgar clear the exit. I took pic. Big beanfield and some great big processing machinery off to the left there if you were standing where took pic. Was referred to as Soledad Prison in instructions to pickup. Loaders not in stripes, but uniform and kind of hustled like be best they do.... Reminded me of our Parchment in the old days. 18,000 acres but of cotton. Where else/what would be similar?

I've showed The OM Opus's post showing his disdain for the amounts of downtime we are taking.

The OM is like," Opus needs to learn to pace himself."
