Hello! I have a 1998 379 Pete with the 60 series 12.7 factory 500 horse. The waste gate was pulled off by previous owner and wired shut. My egts are always high I’m wanting to get a new turbo, manifold and injectors with some new programming. In hope that it will bring down my egts pull better up the hills (as it’s a dog) and get some better fuel mileage. Looking for recommendations on what would be the best set up definitely want more power but not looking for a 700hp motor just want to keep it reliable and get some good power with some good fuel mileage.

not a detroit guy, but had similar issues out of my 5ek cat. I went up to a 78mm turbo and will be doing a manifold next. i figure get the exhaust temps under control before throwing more fuel in the equation. so far it's about right, only see above 850 if i lug her hard, on a long pull. if you can swing both at the same time, that'd be where I'd start

Have you Checked for any boost leaks at all ?
-
I figured if I’m going to do it I might as well just Do it all at once and tackle what I’m wanting
-
I put a new cac cooler on it the turbo being wired the way it is makes me feel like I’m losing boost at the waste gate
