Im the truck driver. I don't have steel toed boots. So I can't get out of the truck to secure their load with a nail gun. Absurd that they want me to do their job. So I guess I can't get the load. They have slip on steel toed attachments, none in my size. I drove three hours to get here.Im going to purchase some boots.Just a heads up,stay away if you can

Working 1099 is the foundation of that problem and others.
What if you slide off the road from a patch of blace ice ? Or blown, or anything that harms you caused by no one

First off if you are going to pull flats, you need steel toe boots, hard hat and a vest. Those items are very basic and required at most places you will go to. If you dont have steel toe, just have a regular set of boots. They will not know the difference. However, if you are going to stay in this business, get yourself the right PPE. Last time I checked, you still are required to have closed toe footwear just to drive per DOT. Dont fall for the new norm you see out there with the clowns wearing flipflops, man buns, walking around in dresses, etc.

This shipper is skidded aluminum coils. Dry van loads. Have to brace the skids. Typical dry van mentality. Although I always had the proper gear. Gold star for me!
