If you drive a Volvo, don't let the Blue Beacon wash your engine. The ECM connectors are extremely sensitive to water intrusion. Their employees don't know any better not to blast them directly with high pressure water.
Then there's also the fact that the air filter element is exposed when the hood is open. You don't want any brightner getting on the paper (hydrofluoric acid) or you'll dust your engine.
Should you Pressure wash engine compartment of a semi truck?

I wouldn’t have someone else do it but I try to do it Atleast once a month, oil leaks drive me nuts, simple green and hot water

It definitely is good to get your motor washed regularly. Once or twice a month is good. Keeps the grime and grease off and your truck will thank you for it.

Every time it gets washed or any repairs mine gets done.

I say yes on the engine and no on under carriage wash , it always lit the ABS dash warning light even on a new trailer.
