Would roll in this morning but got Freezing rain last night. even got a robocall from the trash folks, they are calling off today for safety reasons.

 

Very good advice. Plus bluebird wouldn't bring much with a bad engine. What ever you do , take a little while and think it over. Best of luck whatever you decide.

 

With 650k on it I wonder if an inframe wouldn't be in order. @Tug Toy put a crate engine in his. He did the work himself I believe, and thus it was probably less expensive than hiring out a good inframe, and included new warranty.

I guess the key is that the value in Bluebird is very low with a bad engine, so you are going to pay for one one way or the other, which makes this a bad time to swap into something else.
