Which goes to the heart of my point. Yes, truck drivers are probably responsible for the lions share of what you describe at that location.
But the management of that Love's is being overwhelmed by the problem, which is now reaching epidemic proportions everywhere not just in truck stops.
Truck drivers get their cues from the rest of society, just like anyone else. And the highly mobile nature of the business means gee, if I see it done in location X then it must be OK to do it in location Y and Z. Pretty soon the entire country, no world, has this attitude. And it shows.
There is absolutely no incentive to act in a civilized manor, nor any retribution for not doing so.Another Canadian driver, navypoppop, 48Packard and 3 others Thank this. -

Clearly, the tweakers from Fresno have migrated north about thirty minutes. For gods sake, somebody must do something. They're tearing apart the garbage cans looking for copper wire, catalytic converters, and such.
Another Canadian driver Thanks this. -
Trash all over a truck stop! You don't say! Who cares! I take a ten at one, take a shower, whatever. I don't get upset I can't post instagram pics so people think I always stay in some swanky resort. Who cares? I love reading the reviews on the trucker path app. I swear some of those poncy little idiots think someone should be wiping their backsides, which I suppose some of those pathetic losers mothers still do. Okay now I vented.

Let's expand upon this thought, which you are not alone in expressing.
First it starts out as just unsightly. Well that isn't too hard to ignore
Then the pee bottles start to proliferate, or just pouring urine directly out of the drivers window. Now you get to step in that
Next is the funny plastic bag that doesn't blow away, underneath where the trailers park.
But then they get run over and the tires track their contents all over the parking lot.
You just walked inside to take a shower, to get clean. You walk into the truck stop tracking the traces of human feces and urine everywhere, including the shower stall you are about to use. Or the counter area where the coffee machines are. And you bring it back out into your cab with you.
Oh, that's ok, I take my shoes off when I get in my truck. Bacteria doesn't care, it migrates throughout your whole cabin.
And now the garbage. First it is cute little raccoons raiding the garbage. Next it is stray dogs spreading it all over the place
but then the bane of human existence, (Rattus norvegicus) the brown rat moves in.
There is a reason for modern sanitation methods. The diseases just these species host will make any modern illness pale in comparison.
They call it Third World conditions for a reason.
navypoppop, drvrtech77 and lilillill Thank this. -
So took photo's and never tried to clean any of it up yourself? Now I know what you'll say I never made that mess, true, however I'd bet top dollar that's what every other driver would be saying, the issue is everyone says " oh why doesn't someone do something about this?" but no one does. just let the manager worry about it.
