Advice cb range limited to 2 miles

Before you go changing all kind of stuff, what is your SWR reading using an external meter?
. Was the radio brand new or used? If it was a used radio, get the radio tested for how much power it actually transmits.
. A used radio may have damaged finals and low power output.
