The schools are paid on each student that graduates so they all will pass. When a company hires them and gives them the road test and they can not pass most likely they will get sent home and still have to pay the loan for the school which just pushed them right through. When I went through the driving school the instuctor said everyone will pass. I was shocked but that business I guess and its scary.

 

just remember, if youre totally new to trucking, i can guarantee the 1st year WILL BE THE WORST, regardless of where you start. i started 14.5 years ago with schneider, (and if ta does micromanage, it couldnt be any worse than the pumkin outfit or jb hunt, and ive worked at both, and thats another bunch of stories for the lunch counter), and basically during that first year you will experience shippers/receivers that dont want to do their job, dispatches that are out of fantasyland, docks that are so tight you have to suck in your gut, b.s. on the c.b. that would have Andew "dice" clay cringing, truckstop food that will put the scary lunch ladies in high school to shame, truckstop prostitutes (lot lizards) that will make you swear you've stumbled onto the set of another "night of the living dead" remake, and 4 wheelers that prove that it is possible for someone to be born without a brain.

seriously, you'll be learning the in and outs of the industry, and all the b.s. that you have to put up with, and for that first period it'll be crazy. all i can say is keep your license clean, learn the ropes, and if anyone tries to force you into doing something that will put your life or the lives of others in jeopardy, DO NOT LET THEM. YOU are the one driving the truck, not the idiot 4 wheelers, dispatchers, or the billy-bigriggers. and if something does happen, a lot of the times the company and the DOT will try to put the blame on you. REMEMBER COMMON SENSE!
