Funny thing... I was reading down the list thinking "this sounds like us", then the list kept going and going and going like the Energizer bunny.

Yeah, you're not going to find a job that eliminates all of the BS trucking can give you. No cities? That's laughable, because there has to be a customer base. The customer base needs employees. Those employees are found in cities.

Sounds like its time to buy a truck and get your own authority if you want to run like that. You'll find yourself going into Chicago before you know it just to make a paycheck this week.

I mean go to a dealership & buy a truck. Landstarve or Mercer would fit the bill for the most part.

All the truck amenities are on you, as well as the the toll/scale transponders.

You self dispatch. If you don’t want to deal with brokers, don’t accept any brokered freight.

You choose your lanes, run where you want.

I’m not saying you’re going to succeed, but you’d check off darn near every box on you list. Heck even eliminate a few of them because your not a company driver.

I think CFI has driver-facing cameras, but if you're flexible on that, they might be a fit for you. I don't know how they'll view your lack of recent experience, but it never hurts to check.

FYI: If the experience thing becomes a big issue, I've heard Schneider is pretty flexible, but you'll have to cross off a lot of your list with them. You probably won't be going out West with them if your address is in Tennessee. Then again, if L.A. and Denver are both red lines for you, you can probably forget about anyone sending you West.

The answer is that L.A. is the worst out of all of them by far. I guess it's the big price to pay for doing western 11 though

You know, this forum always tried to stear me away from Mega companies, but that sure sounds like a pretty sweet deal to me. I don't know why any driver would turn down something like that.

I really appreciate your response. This thread was kind of a half-joke thread...Maybe I should start another thread and give it a good thought as to what my absolute NOs would be vs. the things I can compromise on. I think those things would change based on the circumstance. For example, if it's western 11, I would obviously compromise on the L.A. area a bit.

    Long FLD Thanks this.

Easy for you to say way out there in the desolate, frost-free, flat, truckers paradise that is the outback.

We haul hydrochloric to Jacam. Even their crybaby drivers probably work harder than this guy.
