Okay, Sad. It was a good try, anyway.

Wow. I just read your post about England's 270% turnover rate. If I didn't know about CRE, I'd find that hard to believe. That's like 3,000 drivers every four months, isn't it? But I do know about those guys, so I do believe it.

That's a LOT of trucks sitting around on CRE's lot gathering dust and not bringing home any bacon, you know. How can they afford to allow that? Something's going on behind the scenes for sure. I have a feeling it involves my tax money subsidizing their #####.

Taxpayers subsidize farmers and pay them not to grow crops. Maybe taxpayers subsidize trucking companies as well. That way those companies can afford to allow acres of cleaned-out rigs to sit around on their lots waiting on drivers.

The "driver shortage" is such a lie. The turnover problem is nothin' but a big ol' scam.

from everything I have read on this board, CRE has to be the absolute worst trucking company out there. I dont think I have ever read a good word about them.

sorry 'bout not replying 'till now d2d. she said that you couldn't believe everything you read and that this was an example of the power of the internet. i replied, "yes, i know. maybe you should find someone else to recruit for!" that's when she told me of the money i would make. I told her that i knew some seasoned veterans in the business that didn't make that kind of money. and yes, she was angry! i hung up on her! but then last night, the company called me again wanting to know when i wanted to get started!? here's your sign!:smt030

Yeah, the power of the 'net, boy. I wish I would have had this website to look at about 12 years ago.

Be sure to add "the power of the newspaper help-wanted ads" as well. You can learn a lot about a company by watching how often it needs to advertise. You'll need to know only one thing, really. Companies that advertise often aren't worth your time.

The more a company advertises, the faster you should run away from them. The more they beg you to drive for them, the farther you need to stay away from them.

Sensible people don't quit good jobs. They will quit the industry itself first.

    'Nuff said.

As a newbie to this forum and not being in the trucking industry YET, the posts I'm reading about CRE is amazing. Alot of this stuff posted has to fabricated. Having worked in the corporate world all my life CRE would be out of business a long time ago if all this stuff is really going on. As far as CRE's hiring practices, I've seen this with other companies. There is an insurance company in the building I work in that will practically hire anyone off the street. Needless to say you see these people once and thats it. The method to their madness is that you always have a supply of employees knowing that out of all the people you hire maybe 25% will stay on. It does'nt mean that CRE is a bad company. I've visited CRE's website and they do a good sales job of attracting new drivers. I know I'll get beat up over this, but the 1 yr requirement is not bad. It means you got job for one yr and if all you newbies think your going to make big bucks starting out forget it. Thats not going to happen in any industry.
    Just my 2 cents!

You're right! I AI'NT been there. If this incident really happened to your wife, I would think that any normal person would report this incident. If you reported this to the labor board they would be all over this. I'm not going to argue with because it is'nt worth my time and effort.
